About

Hello, my name is Victoria Powell, trying to stay in love with proof.

I’m a curious research freak by nature masquerading by day for the last decade or so as a tax and financial problem solver.  I have researched for pleasure all my life, with intermittent bursts of plein air painting or some other  hands on act of creativity every ten or so years.  I believe almost anything is interesting if you know enough about it.  Although I am highly opinionated about a lot of subjects, health care, government, law, many types of education, child-rearing, art, culture, bias itself, music, media, food, justice and the monkey sphere, I try to be careful in my assumptions and stay in love with proof

The real inspiration for starting this blog, however, came from a happy ending discovery I made after about 3 years of research trying to beat the sexist-termed Widowmaker, a disease-narrowed coronary artery that was severely impacting my quality of life until about two months ago. What I learned about what most cardiologists don't know, don't want to know or won't tell you is a shocking failure to inform patients, so I'm doing what too many doctors should have but have not: telling everyone I can, and I'm not going to be quiet until this treatment is mentioned on every patient information page, written or virtual, that talks about treatment options across the web and in patient literature about heart disease.  We have a right to know our options, to me it's that simple.

I’d love to hear your stories of discovery.  What did nobody tell you?

I hope this blog inspires you to explore new ideas for the pure pleasure of it or because I've touched something you need or want to know. More than anything I hope you will share the miraculous, safe and relatively unknown heart disease treatment EECP (enhanced external counter pulsation) which gave me back my life.  You can save someone you love or who knows who else by sharing this information.  Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women, yet most doctors, even most cardiologists, have not even heard of EECP and don't bother to read about it when they have since they don't make money on it, it isn't very elegant, and they disregard reported improvements of thousands of patients, myself included, as unscientific or biased evidence. It is safe, non-invasive and covered by insurance and Medicare.  Feel free to leave a comment, ask me a question, or follow me on social media!

Finally, I'd love to hear your stories of discovery.  What did nobody tell you?
